The origins of lacemaking in Spain can be traced back to the Middle Ages . Visions of beautiful women in mantillas come to mind when Spanish lace is mentioned. This glorious design for the counted cross stitch enthusiast is an homage to the ancient art. You’ll work cross stiches and backstitches in dark colors against a deep grey blue background ; the backing fabric is included with this design by Riolis.  You'll use a super soft lustrous wool/acrylic thread produced by the Italian wool company Safil to stitch these beautiful pieces into life. More resistant to abrasion, and more color fast, this blend gives you great results whether you're a beginner or experienced stitcher.
