There is a Moose Pass in Alaska, but there isn't a Moosehead Pass. Moosehead was coined in 1984 by a quartet of men sking around Montana Peak. They referenced it to the animal and the vicinity has since evolved into an unofficial shrine to Alces alces (moose). This is one of Leigh's Cabin Fever series
