In July of 1862, Lewis Carroll , a pseudonym for Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, breathed life into a long story told to a young child named Alice Liddell and her sisters while they spent time together at a picnic. Fascinated by the tale, the young Alice implored Carroll to write it down, and the basis for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (now often referred to in it's abbreviated form Alice in Wonderland) was written. Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There was a sequel which quickly followed.

This shy logician & mathematician turned novelist gave Victorians instant children's literature classics which have now become beloved by children and adults worldwide. Carroll used the surrealistic settings of his fantasy world to question the commonly accepted ways of thinking. These stories have fascinated generations, giving rise to inspiration for artists, musicians, political essayists and authors in nearly every culture. We are so pleased and proud to present an exceptional find for our Alice in Wonderland Collectors. This exemplary rendition for the needle artist features crewel embroidery interpretations of John Tenniel's original illustrations which accompanied Lewis' fantasy tales.

For Serious collectors, this masterpiece is a way to share in the re-creation of the magical moments that Alice has during her Adventures. From the moment she spies the Timely Rabbit, until the moment she awakens, this brilliant collection embodies the spirit of the characters and tale. Be sure to see all the pieces of this exciting series we've been able to procure for our avid needleartistry collectors.

"In that case,” said the Dodo solemnly, rising to its feet, “I move that the meeting adjourn, for the immediate adoption of more energetic remedies—” “Speak English!” said the Eaglet. “I don’t know the meaning of half those long words, and, what’s more, I don’t believe you do either!”

And the Eaglet bent down its head to hide a smile: some of the other birds tittered audibly. “What I was going to say,” said the Dodo in an offended tone, “was, that the best thing to get us dry would be a Caucus-race.”Chapter 3, A Caucus-Race and a Long Tale
