Rare Botticelli Artwork Needlepoint Stocking Kit Madonna Child

    Botticelli's 1468 painting "Madonna of the Rose Garden" ( Also Known As "Virgin and Child with Young John the Baptist" ) served as the inspiration for this long out of production design for the needlepoint Christmas stocking enthusiast. Choosing to use a close up section of the painting, with some minor changes, ( the face of the Madonna is blended between two of Botticelli's artworks, and she has her eyes open in this piece) the artists of Something Special division of Candamar have done a beautiful job of  reproducing Botticelli's artwork for the needleartist. Roses are used in the corner details, gold metallic flosses are used to help capture the shimmering halos.
