Cathy Needlecraft’s holiday stocking design is a great combination of crewel embroidery and quilting techniques. You’ll stitch basic embroidery outline stitches through lightly batted layers of fabric, and fill in with pastel wools and metallic threads. A unique design( known as shadow quilting) that’s suitable for display on the mantle or doorknobs- keep contemporary with it’s natural look, or create an antique primitive style design with coffee or tea dying techniques.
