This brilliantly colored exotic floral design has been interpreted from a prized late seventeenth century bedcover in the collection of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. The original bedcover was imported from India for the european markets in the late 17th century; it's design features central delicate flowering branches growing from a small mound and bearing exotic flowers, buds, and leaves, among which are butterflies and other insects filling the center. The original bedcover is considered to be one of the "masterwork" pieces in Colonial Williamsburg's textile collection, truly an exotic beautify.  Printed on #13 needlepoint canvas  worked in 100% wool Elsa Williams Tapestry and Persian yarns with cotton floss detailing.
