We are so pleased and proud to be able to present this truly one of a kind find for our Oriental needlepoint collectors. An exquisite design by Lillian Delavoryas for the original Elsa Williams company ( Prior to the JCA, Inc. buyout), this exquisite asian style pictoral vase is a study in elegant timelessness. No flowers necessary to enhance this Asian collector’s dream~ this piece for the needlepoint artist is worked complely in Elsa’s 100% wool tapestry yarns.
Elsa Williams herself said of this piece ( and it's complementing design, Rampur, which sometimes available here at A/O ) "I've always been fascinated by the symbolism of the Eastern motifs. Like many of the earliest works of Persian vase-painting odone in the Archaic era, these beautiful vases combine geometric forms with themes from nature and blend the two into a subtle and harmonious whole. Their flower forms, borrowed from Persian gardens, include palmettes, chrysanthemums and lotus blossoms. The graceful form of the weeping willow symbolizes sorrow...The pleasing balance of their delicate and intense colors, geometrically charted borders , and the three-dimensional reality will delight eyes and imaginations with the artful work of your needle for many years to come"
