Eszter Haraszty, the Hungarian-born designer known for the Iceland poppy motif she replicated on textiles, ceramics and stained glass, created this amazing piece for the crewel embroidery artist. Ms. Haraszty's gorgeous and eye catching work, which included a variety of mediums but usually revolved around the use of color and floral patterns, is represented in permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Le Chateau Dufresne in Montreal. She won five gold medals from the Association of Interior Designers for textile designs, and it's exquisite pieces like this which were the reason! This long out of production design for Bucilla when it still carried the Ulmann name on the packaging is THE find of season for the stitchery enthusiast. Fits in with today's bold styles, as well as retro and shabby chic.
Employing bright colors and wool yarns in a variety of textures you'll work a variety of stitches to end up with this one of a kind and absolutely lovely floral pillow.
