For more than a thousand years, crewel embroidery has been a source of beauty in homes~ from draperies and furniture to pillows and more. It can be seen in many styles~ with names like Jacobean embroidery Bayeux Tapestry, Quaker tapestry along with many other period embroidery style names. Embroidery pieces & techniques were thought to have been  brought with the colonists & Americans have placed their own special stamp of this beautiful embroidery technique over the centuries.
 
Very few needle work manufacturers provided large, usable pieces for the home like Paragon Needlecraft. Their long out of production bedspread line had only a very few crewel pieces; this folk art bird design is simply lovely. You'll work this Birds in a Cherry Tree design  on 100% belgian linen in the wools, silks or flosses you supply  to create an heirloom which should be treasured and passed down for generatons to come.(*Note* This was also later released under the name of Tree of Paradise )
