Fine details, a plethora of stitches, and a small piece of history are just part of the reasons we love this long out of production design for the crewel embroidery enthusiast. Originally a small detail on a large bed hanging which was sold by one of England's Decorative Needlework Societies to the Metropolitan Museum as part of the 1908 Roger's fund, this lovely adaptation was designed for today's stitchers by Susan Siegler for Mazaltov's. This pair of Folk art Style Birds is actually a colorful pair of Peacocks enjoying a snack in the branches of a tree; look closely, the details are lovely!  You can see the originally pair just to the right of center, near the bottom of the original piece in the illustration below. (Shown for Illustration Purposes Only) You'll work this historic piece on a linen twill almost identical to the original in beautiful Paternayan Persian wools. Simply Wonderful! This piece arrived in overly shopworn packaging which has been replaced to keep item clean and ready to work.
