Carol and Don Henning's gorgeous designs for the crewel embroidery enthusiast are hard to find, and high in demand. In this particular piece, they shared a little to give us a glimpse of what they were thinking when they created this beauty. " Nature had the first water softener...simply evaporating the lakes and oceans, leaving all the impurities behind, and then condensing it as rain. The mellow old rain barrel found behind many a home in bygone days held fifty gallons of that beautiful, soft, slipper rainwater so highly prized for washing hari and dishes. And when the water got low....well, it was fun for the kids to yell into."
