 This tranquil view of a country church by a stream is an unusually peaceful picture from Texas artist Jack Sorenson.  Best known for his paintings of horses and Old West scenes, in “Beside Still Water” he gives us a little insight into his strong Christian faith.  The many soft shades of green and the subtle pastels of the church’s reflection in the water give a sense of resting to gather strength.   Because it’s from Jack Sorenson, of course there is a horse in this picture, calmly awaiting his master’s command beside a little rowboat.  This picture will be perfect in any room as a gentle reminder to slow down and enjoy our surroundings.
