Rare Miniature Shepherd Shepherdess Petit Point Cross Stitch Kit Duo

Miniature antique samplers are a rare find. This Shepherd and Shepherdess are excerpted from a larger sampler made in English in 1970, depicting a fashionably attired couple with their animals. Rather than the characteristic smock and crook, this Shepherd sports knee breeches, white stockings and cravat, while this lady wears a woven skirt with tightly laced bodice, and an elaborate, almost Grecian, head-dress. A honeysuckle arcaded border hovers over the pair. You'll work French silks on 26 ct linsey woolsey fabric in this circa 1987 petit point cross stitch design by the Scarlet Letter.
