Enjoy some 2 in 1 fun from Storybook stitchery! You'll enjoy this award winning picture story book set which comes with a lovely embroidery kit for the crewel embroidery enthusiast. Miss Suzy, made famous in the book by Miriam Young and brought to life by Arnold Lobel's illustrations is certainly one of the most charming creatures in the books showcased by Parent's Magazine Press. What a great idea for anyone who wants to showcase the joys of gentle pleasures such as reading and stitching to a special youngster. The illustration used for the stitchery design is from another story in the series; giving the stitcher and young reader something to look forward to in future quiet times together.

Miss Suzy, a gray squirrel, lives "in the tip, tip, top of a tall oak tree"-until a boisterous group of mean red squirrels displaces her. She retreats to a dollhouse and meets some toy soldiers who help her reclaim her house in this sweet Parent's Magazine Press Book circa 1964.  Arnold Lobel's pen and ink drawings with a burgundy brown  wash alternate with full-color pictures in hues bold and rich or delicate and ethereal. The book is in very good vintage condition with little or no evidence of wear; the original paper marker from the stitchery kit is still with the book. * See Images Tab Above for more view
