What a great idea for anyone who wants to showcase the joys of gentle pleasures such as reading and stitching to a special youngster. The illustration used for the stitchery design is from another story in the series; giving the stitcher and young reader something to look forward to in future quiet times together.

Miss Suzy, a gray squirrel, lives "in the tip, tip, top of a tall oak tree"-until a boisterous group of mean red squirrels displaces her. She retreats to a dollhouse and meets some toy soldiers who help her reclaim her house in this sweet Parent's Magazine Press Book circa 1964.  Arnold Lobel's pen and ink drawings with a burgundy brown  wash alternate with full-color pictures in hues bold and rich or delicate and ethereal. The book is in very good vintage condition with little or no evidence of wear; the original paper marker from the stitchery kit is still with the book. * See Images Tab Above for more view
