Hototo, a Hopi Kachina, is also known as the Bear Kachina. Appearing on all three mesas, he is revered as a guard or protector of his people. He is shown here as he distributes gifts to the children at the Bean Dance, or Pachavu Ceremony held in February. This long out of production design for the counted cross stitch enthusiast by Jan Hunt is worked on 28 count ice blue annabelle fabric in smooth cotton flosses, wisper mohair fibers, and embellished with turquoise nuggets, shells and fetishes. Absolutely beautiful, this gorgeous piece from the "Reflections of the High Desert" series makes a perfect addition to your Native American design collection.
