Diego Rivera's inimitable artwork is most definitely a fusion of some amazing artstyles; from Cubism, Socialist Realism, ages old Renaissance Frescos, and the beauty of the Aztec cultural art, his stylized artistry often captures working people; flower vendors were among his favorite subjects. Flower Day ( Dia de Flores) from 1925 is said to have been his first-ever depiction of a theme that reappeared often in his work throughout the 1930s and ‘40s. His paintings brought Mexican art to the forefron of twentieth century modernism. Absolutely beautiful!

A small detail has been reproduced for the needlepoint enthusiast by a designer simply known as Nola; we believe it has been incorrectly named; our research showed that some Art historians indicate that the central subject is an indigenous woman vending the flowers, and this needlepoint reproduction is titled "Man with Calla Lilies detail." We'll let you do your own research on this famous and controversial  amazing artist; the close up detail is worked on a 13 mesh handpainted canvas with persian wools.
