Produced exclusively ffor the Smithsonian Institution, in Washington,  DC, this piece for the needlepoint artist by It's Polite to Point was inspired by the Mollusk Collection in the National Museum of Nature History.Clockwise from top center, the shells pictured are: Fluted Giant Clam (Tridacna squamosa), Miraculous Staircase shell (Thatheria mirabilis), Glory of the Seas Cone (Conus gloria maris) Scallop (Pecten), Textile Cone, (Conus textile) Lion's Paw Scallop (Lyropecten), Scallop (Pecten) Wentletrap (Epitonium), General Cone ( Conus generalis).
Please note: Still in original folded condition, the canvas may (and usually do) have some color bleed issues which will not affect your finished design. Absolutely beautiful when finished!
