Rare Spring Lilacs Needlepoint Kit 18th Century Artwork Repro

 

We love the historic designs that the gorgeous and long out of production pieces "It's Polite to Point" brought to life for the needlepoint artist. This Spring Lilacs patter is adapted from a late eighteenth century woodblock printed plain weave textile. The original fabric is in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Design, in New York City. This exquisite estate piece arrived in overly shopworn packaging which has been replaced to keep canvas and wools clean and ready to work. Absolutely lovely!
