We are so pleased and proud to present this long out of production and simply fabulous artwork reproduction design for the crewel embroidery artist. This gorgeous pillow is based on Alfred Beau's "Botanique" series platter which measures more than three feet long by two and a half feet wide and weighs 32 pounds. The porcelain platter was gifted to President Woodrow Wilson on behalf of the combined chambers of commerce of Finistère in Brittany when he arrived in Brest,France on December 13, 1918. President Wilson was asked to accept “this souvenir ... as a symbol of their admiration and profound appreciation for the courageous and brilliant intervention of the American armies in the world war.”

According to legend, Edith Wilson once used the huge platter to serve two tiny lamb chops, to cheer Wilson out of the low spirits which affected him during his illness~ how sweet! Stitch your own little bit of history into life with this amazingly beautiful traditional design, which was created for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

* See a small photo of the platter in our "Images" tab above; it is displayed at the Woodrow Wilson House.
