Beatrix Potter had a lifetime fascination with rhymes. After the release of her 1902 book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, she created a small collection of illustrations and rhymes, and eventually, in 1917, her nursery rhyme concept book was published and called Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes. This delightful adaptation for the crewel enthusiast by Erica Wilson stands the test of time.

Loved the world over, her very special artwork has been reproduced for the crewel embroidery artist in this exquisite and extremely rare piece based on the story of Hunca Munca and the crib she took from the little red brick dollhouse.

"...The bookcase and the birdcage were rescued from under the coal-box; but Hunca Munca has got the cradle and some of Lucinda’s clothes..." THE TALE OF TWO BAD MICE BY BEATRIX POTTER

This treasure arrived in overly shopworn packaging which has been replaced to keep piece clean and ready to work.
