 Now housed in the Musee D'Orsay, this is the only painting Van Gogh did which represents in full the church in Auvers that can sometimes be seen in the background of views of the whole village of Auvers-sur-Oise.  Auvers-sur-Oise is a village on the outskirts of Paris where Van Gogh stayed after leaving the psychiatric hospital in Saint-Remy de Provence.  He did this painting during the month just before his death in 1890. Tamara Swanson of LadyBug Designs has beautifully reproduced this piece for the counted cross stitch enthusiast.  

Finished size: 10.5" x 131/2" on 14-ct Navy Aida.
