French Artist Jean-Baptiste Monge's  exquisite fantasy artwork is a delight for all ages. His work comes to life in his collaborations in today's movies, video games and character creations for worldwide enterprises such as Walt Disney, Blizzard Entertainment and more. The Clurichaun ( Le Cluricaun)has been beautifully translated for the experienced cross stitch artist by Annaick Chauvel in this challenging design worked on 32 count linen. You'll work DMC flosses, and Au Ver a Soie Metallics to create this enchanting design.

William Butler Yeats wrote of the Clurichaun in his "Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry"; until then some thought perhaps he was a Leprechaun on an evening drinking binge.  Some  know him to be a bit surlier than the leprechaun, not as work-minded , and a bit more askance in behaviour. If happy, he may care for your treasured wines, however, if irked, he may sour it all! On occasion, it's just possible to hear him sing merrily; all in all a more dubious character than you may wish to keep around!  JB Monge has beautifully illustrated this  ne'er  do well fellow; sitting on a barrel enjoying a tankard of brew. You can tell from his shabby clothes it's been a long time since he worked, but he doesn't seem unhappy about it!
